Islamic Cultural Luton Central Mosque is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Specialist Qāri’ to supplement and enhance the mosque’s existing educational provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in upskilling current mosque staff and delivering advanced Qur’anic sciences to the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist Qirā’āt training to existing mosque staff.
- Teach classical Tajwīd courses requiring formal Ijāzah.
- Teach Arabic Language.
- Teach and supervise students in the Ten Qirā’āt.
- Deliver Maqāmāt courses.
- Support the mosque’s educational objectives.
- Maintain high professional and safeguarding standards.
Essential Requirements
- Adherence to Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamā‘ah (Ash‘arī or Māturīdī creed).
- Follows one of the four Sunni schools of Fiqh.
- Ḥāfiẓ al-Qur’ān with reputable Ijāzah.
- Ijāzah in and authorisation to teach the Ten Qirā’āt.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching Qirā’āt.
- Fluency in Arabic.
Desirable
- Previous experience working with an NGO or community organisation.
