Location: We are a hybrid team, based throughout the UK. We offer the flexibility to work outside of the UK up to 90 days per year, however you must be able to work and live permanently within the UK, and travel to London at least 4 times a year for team meeting sessions and additionally as needed.
We're looking for a brilliantly organised, proactive and ambitious Operations Associate to join Isla's Operations team and help us build an exceptional company. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture, attracting top-tier talent, and streamlining operational processes to facilitate the rapid growth of the company.
The role will offer variety and dynamism. As Isla grows, your responsibilities will too. We have a huge amount to get done, so the ideal candidate must be willing to solve a diverse range of operational challenges to help us achieve the big ambitions we have. The ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive and must possess the skills to support and manage various business enablement functions, whilst leading on running the hiring processes for multiple roles simultaneously. This position is crucial for driving operational excellence and ensuring our continued success as we continue on our journey to transform healthcare.
You'll work across recruitment, people operations, business systems and day-to-day operations. You'll become one of the people everyone at Isla relies on to solve problems, improve processes and ensure the business runs efficiently behind the scenes. No two weeks look the same. One day you might be launching a new hiring campaign, the next improving an internal process, coordinating company events, managing software systems or helping onboard new team members.
Role Overview
Over the next 12 months, your responsibilities will include:
- Recruitment
- Manage end-to-end recruitment across multiple live vacancies, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience from application through to offer.
- Produce engaging job descriptions and recruitment campaigns that attract exceptional candidates.
- Source candidates through LinkedIn and other platforms.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and continuously improve hiring performance.
- Strengthen Isla's employer brand across careers pages, job boards and social media.
- People Operations
- Support employees with day-to-day people queries and requests.
- Organise company socials, quarterly meetups and team events.
- Keep internal documentation and knowledge bases accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate learning sessions, wellbeing initiatives and employee benefits.
- Business Operations
- Coordinate user access, supplier administration and renewals across business systems and software platforms we use across the company.
- Manage business insurance renewals and assist with compliance activities.
- Provide operational support across people, finance, compliance and wider business operations, helping teams work efficiently as we scale.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve, automate and simplify internal processes.
- Contribute ideas that help Isla scale efficiently as a company, while making it a truly excellent place to work.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who is exceptionally organised, intellectually curious and excited by the opportunity to help build a fast-growing company. You'll thrive if you enjoy solving problems, taking ownership and constantly looking for better ways of working.
You'll be successful in this role if you have:
- Experience in an Operations, People, HR, Recruitment or Business Support role, ideally within a startup or scale-up environment.
- Experience managing recruitment processes across multiple business functions, using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, with a passion for delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
- Outstanding organisational skills, excellent communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying opportunities to improve processes and make teams more effective.
- Confidence learning and adopting new technologies, with experience using modern workplace tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Coda/Notion and HRIS platforms.
- A proactive mindset - you take ownership, spot problems before others do and see things through to completion.
- High levels of energy, curiosity and resilience, with a genuine desire to help build a brilliant company and create an exceptional experience for both candidates and employees.
Nice to have:
- Experience recruiting technical roles, ideally within health tech or another niche industry.
- Excellent data analysis skills and confidence using metrics to drive improvements.
- Experience supporting a fast-growing business as it scales, including operating across multiple countries.
