Staxy is an early-stage technology startup building products that sit at the intersection of sport, location data, and real-world behaviour. They work with organisations to better understand how people move, engage, and interact with physical spaces, using mobile technology, location data, and analytics to generate meaningful insight. Backed by an experienced board with deep roots in sport and commercial leadership, Staxy are well past the “idea stage” and firmly into building and scaling.
This is a Founding Engineer role with genuine ownership. You’ll work closely with the CTO, and other founders, and will be involved across the full product lifecycle, from shaping features through to shipping them.
- Building and shipping features across a mobile application and backend platform
- Mobile / Frontend: React Native, TypeScript
- Backend: Node.js (Fastify or similar)
- Data: MongoDB
- APIs: RESTful services and mobile-to-server communication
There’s also scope to get involved in machine learning over time. Staxy already use ML to process GPS data and understand travel behaviour, and this will become a bigger focus as the platform evolves.
- Build and ship features across the mobile app and backend
- Write clean, maintainable TypeScript
- Work closely with the CTO on technical decisions and implementation
- Good working knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript
- Experience building and shipping real features (ideally mobile)
- React Native / Expo experience
- Any exposure or interest in machine learning
Base salary of between ÂŁ50k-ÂŁ60k (A little flexibility depending on experience)
