Want to use your frontend skills to fight climate change? At Bohr, your code won’t just create beautiful interfaces, it will help reduce methane emissions, improve safety across Europe’s gas networks, and support the transition to a zero-carbon future.
About Bohr: We’re on a mission to decarbonise energy through innovation. Through our methane emissions division, Tectrac, we combine advanced mobile leak detection technology with analytics and GIS‑led insights to help utilities find and fix methane leaks faster and more efficiently. Your work will directly help reshape one of the world’s oldest infrastructures for a sustainable future.
The Role: We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer with deep experience in React, TypeScript, and modern UI development to help shape Bohr’s digital platforms. You’ll work on everything from methane analytics dashboards to real‑time survey tools, including visualising telemetry from low‑cost sensors across gas networks. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll build high‑performance, secure, and scalable interfaces used by major utilities across the UK and Europe. As our platforms grow, you’ll help improve performance, enhance accessibility, and deliver intuitive, maintainable UI components. You’ll collaborate with product, GIS, and operations teams to integrate data visualisations and geospatial features, while contributing to UI architecture and frontend best practices.
What Success Looks Like: Success means building interfaces that are fast, reliable, and intuitive. Your work will make complex data easy to understand, mapping and analytics visualisations will integrate seamlessly, and automated testing will keep deployments stable. You’ll help elevate Bohr’s frontend capability into a core strength and directly support our clients in reducing methane emissions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong professional experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proficiency with Tailwind CSS or similar utility‑first frameworks.
- Understanding of frontend security principles and performance optimisation.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Clear communication and collaboration across teams.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to be in Bristol 3 days/week.
- Experience with mapping libraries like Maplibre or Leaflet.
- Passion for clean, maintainable, accessible UI.
- Exposure to analytics or data‑rich applications.
Why Join Bohr? At Bohr, your work really matters, you’ll build interfaces that make it easy for utilities to prioritise repairs and reduce methane emissions, help shape core digital platforms, and collaborate in a fast‑growing, purpose‑driven company. You’ll also enjoy hybrid working with autonomy and flexibility in our Bristol office. Up to £60,000 (BOE) Pension contributions. Participate in our EMI share scheme.
If you’re a frontend engineer who wants to combine creative, technical challenge with environmental impact, this is your chance to build interfaces that help protect the planet and transform energy networks for a sustainable future.
