We’re growing and want you to be a part of our journey. As part of this role you’ll be working in Isio’s Actuarial & Consulting team – over 400 pensions experts – actuaries and consultants advising a diverse range of clients across the private, public and not‑for‑profit sectors.

We advise on everything from helping trustees and sponsors to manage their defined benefit plans, running large scale communications projects and implementing alternative reward and pension provision. The wide range of work gives you opportunities to gain new experiences, specialise and put your skills to the test.

We’re looking for qualified pensions actuaries or those with significant UK DB pensions experience to join our team. As a challenger in the industry, we seek individuals with excellent pensions consulting and technical skills, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:

  • Driving key initiatives in the delivery of UK DB Pensions advice to clients – including managing client projects directly and supporting partners and directors.
  • Working with and building relationships with clients directly, collaborating as part of a team and developing junior colleagues.
  • Assisting in the development of new business with existing and new clients.
  • Leading and delegating responsibilities to junior colleagues on projects such as:
  • Performing actuarial valuations and calculations for Trustees.
  • Developing pension strategies for corporate, public and not‑for‑profit organisations.
  • Writing and delivering communications projects for members.
  • Providing insurance transaction and scheme consolidation advice.
  • Carrying out data projects such as benefit rectifications, pension dashboards and GMP equalisation.

Location & working style:

We can offer a range of locations – Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, allowing colleagues to split their time between office and home.

  • Excellent project management and client delivery skills – particularly when balancing multiple demands.
  • A great team worker – with experience in performance management, delegating to juniors and supporting development.
  • Commercial skills – a curious mind looking for new opportunities.
  • Technical experience – significant experience in the UK DB pensions industry or highly relevant transferable skills.
  • Qualifications – likely to be a qualified pensions actuary (FIA/FFA or equivalent).
