Azure/Networking Engineer in London

An experienced Azure/Networking engineer who enjoys a challenge at an ever-growing technology focused business. You will play a key role in supporting the business to implement solutions that provide benefits to our users and clients, whilst ensuring all the existing solutions are well maintained and supported.

Location

This role is part of our IT team based broadly across our nationwide offices. It can be based in any of our regional offices with a hybrid work style of 2‐3 days a week in the office including Birmingham, Belfast, Reading, Croydon, Manchester, Leeds, Scotland or Bristol. Ad hoc travel may be required to different offices and occasional out of hours work to support essential system maintenance.

Role and Responsibilities

• Maintaining and implementing new solutions within Isio's Azure tenants, ensuring alerts are handled, virtual machines are maintained, new resources are set up to best practice.
• Maintaining networking solutions such as Cisco Meraki, Zscaler, Azure Front Door.
• Maintaining and implementing new solutions within Isio's M365 stack including Entra, Intune, M365 Admin Portal, Defender.
• Improving the security posture of the business by ensuring security standards are met, everything is set up to best practice, assisting with providing information for audits to renew and new accreditations.
• Working on varying different small to large projects to implement new solutions and improve existing ones within the IT stack.
• Working with the service desk as an escalation point, highlighting key issues and tackling root causes of issues that arise.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong networking experience – LAN/WAN/SDWAN/Azure networking such as routing, firewalls, network peering.
• Strong proven knowledge of Azure services such as Entra ID, App Services, Storage, Backups, Conditional Access, Front Door, Load Balancers.
• Experience of Windows server administration – IIS, Update Management, Performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with O365 Suite Administration, Intune & Defender for Endpoint.
• Experience using tools to automate regular activities (e.g. Tines, N8N, Zapier, Power Automate, PowerShell).
• Great communication and problem‐solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders effectively that have varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Strong technical knowledge with an aptitude for learning.
• Strong documentation skills to ensure all solutions are documented to a high standard.
• Self‐motivated with ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards, e.g. ISO 27001 certified environment.
• Use of Azure DevOps (or similar tools) to deploy IaC into Azure – experience with ARM or Bicep templates and YAML pipelines.
• Familiarity with mail flow and security solutions such as Proofpoint and ONDMARC.
• Experience working in a regulated industry, e.g. telecoms, financial services, utilities.
• Experience of Jira & Confluence for work management & documentation.
• Experience monitoring server and cloud native resources using tools such as DataDog, Solarwinds or similar.
