Isio has an established and growing public service pensions business delivering around £8m of revenue across all service lines. It spans central and local government, blue lights, health, education and housing, and is linked to sectors such as transport, utilities and infrastructure. The team lives Isio’s approach – challenging, innovating and forward-thinking. Public services is viewed as a key growth opportunity for the business, bringing diversification and longevity. The business seeks commercial input and focus to maximise its significant growth potential at a time of enormous change within the sector. This is a role which is both market facing and also has a focus on driving commercial and operational excellence, capitalising on Isio’s market leading position.

What does the role entail?

  • Drive forward new business activities, build relationships with potential clients, produce tender submissions and lead pitches.
  • Demonstrate commercial and operational excellence in relation to financial, people, client and opportunity management.
  • Have a vision for how the public services opportunity can be best maximised.
  • Use an existing relationship network with key stakeholders to develop new opportunities.
  • Demonstrate deep experience and relationships in at least one of the main public sector areas and ability to apply that to the others.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of public sector procurement and to challenge how this can be used to Isio’s advantage.
  • Lead client relationships – co-ordinating multiple Isio service lines, developing new opportunities with existing clients, managing commercial and personal relationships with clients.
  • Support the Board and Exco with financial analysis to support business decisions and reviews.
  • Be willing to raise new ideas internally and challenge thinking to ensure our work is robust and joined-up across multiple specialist teams.
  • Support the development of our team members through coaching and mentoring, including performance management responsibilities.

What we’re looking for?

  • Experience of providing pensions advice for or within at least one of the sectors of public services.
  • Ability to lead, with the appropriate support from Isio’s service lines, all types of pensions and reward projects.
  • Experience of providing advice in relation to the LGPS/Local government is welcomed, but not essential.
  • Extensive previous experience of relevant consulting and relationship management.
  • Appetite to drive forward innovative thinking on strategy development.
  • Proven network of relationships to develop business.
  • Business development experience and a commercial mindset.
  • Extensive leadership skills.
  • The ability and willingness to take on a high level of responsibility and work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
