Role Requirements:
- Generate new investment ideas and produce materials to take to our clients and prospects
- Conduct due diligence meetings with managers to set fund ratings and assume responsibility for ongoing monitoring
- Participate in investment committee meetings and debates, and provide regular updates on investment views
- Attend client meetings as a research specialist
- Oversee junior members of the team to help them deliver research projects
- Deliver training to colleagues on related topics
- Potential for this role to expand into portfolio analyst role covering fund of fund products
Experience and Competencies Required:
- Working towards the CFA or similar exams, or qualified
- 4-7 years of experience in financial services with experience in manager research and understanding of the asset management industry and markets
- Experience in one or more of the following asset classes would be ideal: Equity (Long-only), Multi Asset, Hedge Funds / Global Macro, Alternative Risk Premia
- Excellent analytical and communication skills including strong presentation skills
- Preferred experience in day-to-day portfolio management (including portfolio construction and implementation) of a Fund of Funds portfolio
- Experience in contributing to the investment strategy decisions of the fund - regarding asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager selection
- Preferred experience in daily portfolio management/implementation duties - risk monitoring, exposure analysis, performance attribution, reporting etc.
- Preferred experience in collaborating with teams both internally and externally and across functions - Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Data providers, Distribution partners, Fund Managers, and Technology, etc.
