As part of Isio's Actuarial & Consulting team — over 400 pensions experts advising a diverse range of clients across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

The team provides services from managing defined benefit schemes to large-scale communications projects and pension provision strategies.

The GMP Reconciliation & Rectification - Assistant Manager leads GMP reconciliation and rectification projects for DB pension schemes, overseeing the review of historical GMP data, identifying discrepancies, and developing plans to correct member records.

This role acts as the main point of contact for clients, provides guidance to analysts, delivers insights to Trustees, and supports the growth of GMP advisory services.

Hybrid working with time split between office locations, client sites, and home.

  • Lead end-to-end GMP reconciliation projects for DB pension schemes, including data validation, reconciliation of scheme records with HMRC data, and discrepancy rectification.
  • Review gaps in historical GMP data identified by analysts using tools such as HMRC's GMP Checker and proprietary reconciliation models.
  • Review GMP entitlements for members and develop rectification plans for schemes with incomplete or inconsistent GMP records.
  • Review GMP reconciliation reports for Trustees, including actionable insights on data gaps, financial impacts, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Act as the point of contact for Trustees, employers, and third-party administrators, presenting GMP reconciliation findings and rectification plans in client meetings.
  • Train analysts on GMP reconciliation methodologies and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to expand GMP advisory services, contributing to proposals and pitches for new clients.

Qualifications

  • While not essential, you may be currently pursuing FIA/FFA or PMI or equivalent qualifications; Isio provides study support for your chosen path.
  • Relevant industry experience — pensions administration or pensions actuarial background with a solid technical understanding of GMP reconciliation and rectification, gained in a DB pensions consultancy environment or similar.
  • Technical experience — advanced proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and reconciliation.
  • A great team worker who can contribute in project teams, in-office teams, and by supporting the development of others.
