Isio is recruiting for a Pensions Consultant to join our Pensions Operational Solutions Team as a Manager, where we enable schemes to deliver the best outcomes for members. We work with some of the largest and most complex pensions schemes in the UK, supporting them to achieve their strategic goals through reviews of pension scheme data, benefit calculations, processes and controls.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day delivery of projects for a portfolio of large DB and DC pension schemes.
  • Work directly with pension providers, insurers and public service schemes.
  • Design and deliver reviews of administration operations, service improvement plans and data management plans.
  • Involve in GMP reconciliation and data cleansing work prior to GMP equalisation or other data and benefit audit projects.
  • Manage the team delivering these projects and serve as the primary client contact.
  • Review work of junior staff and provide direct client interaction as necessary.
  • Train and mentor junior team members.
  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients to secure further work and drive revenue growth.

Key Skills & Experience

  • In‑depth understanding of Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes, including their administration and regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience as a consultant or senior pensions administrator in a consultancy‑based environment with significant client‑facing responsibilities.
  • Ability to review and interpret complex data and reports with accuracy and compliance.
  • Expertise in pension administration technical aspects such as calculations, benefit audits and service improvement plans.
  • Knowledge of UK pension regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Where is the role?

The role can be based in any of Isio’s UK offices, including Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Reading. We operate on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 2–3 days in the office, and occasional client site travel may be required.
