ISGAP is seeking a full-time Academic Engagement Manager based in Cambridge, UK, to support the expansion of ISGAP’s academic, scholarly, and institutional initiatives in Cambridge, nationally and internationally. The position will play a central role in developing academic partnerships, supporting scholarly research, publications, and programming to advance ISGAP’s engagement with leading scholars, academic institutions, and policy communities in the UK and beyond. The Academic Engagement Manager will contribute to strengthening ISGAP’s intellectual presence and facilitating collaborative research, academic programming, and scholarly exchange.
The preferred candidate will have experience in academic environments and demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and strategic coordination skills, with an understanding of contemporary antisemitism and related academic, policy, and public discourse.
About ISGAP:The Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), established in 2003, is the preeminent international research center for the critical study of contemporary antisemitism. ISGAP works to develop and legitimize the academic discipline of contemporary antisemitism studies through interdisciplinary research, curriculum development, education, and policy engagement. ISGAP maps, decodes, and combats antisemitism through scholarly research, international academic programs, publications, and engagement with policymakers and civil society. With global programs and partnerships at leading academic institutions, ISGAP plays a central role in advancing scholarship and policy responses to contemporary antisemitism.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, researchers, academic departments, and research centers at the University of Cambridge and across the UK.
- Support the growth and engagement of ISGAP’s academic network, including scholars, fellows, and academic partners.
- Create and assist in the creation and development of academic programming and publications.
- Engage ISGAP fellows, alumni, and affiliated scholars to strengthen ongoing academic collaboration.
- Identify and develop opportunities for academic cooperation, visiting scholars, and collaborative research initiatives.
- Serve as a key academic liaison representing ISGAP within Cambridge and the national and international academic community.
- Work closely with the Managing Editor to support the development and growth of ISGAP’s International Journal of Alterity, as well as other ISGAP publications.
- Support efforts to solicit high-quality manuscript submissions from established and emerging scholars.
- Assist in organizing academic and policy-related events, roundtables, and scholarly discussions, and other programming events.
- Work closely with ISGAP leadership to implement strategic academic and institutional priorities.
- University-based experience.
- An advanced degree in a relevant academic field is preferred; candidates with substantial graduate-level training will also be considered.
- Strong familiarity with academic environments, particularly within the UK and/or University of Cambridge context.
- Demonstrated experience in academic engagement, scholarly coordination, or research-related initiatives.
- Experience in programme development in a scholarly context.
- Understanding of contemporary antisemitism and antisemitism studies strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills within academic and institutional settings.
- Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international teams.
- Experience supporting academic publications, journals, or editorial processes preferred.
- Professional, proactive, and strategic mindset.
