What will you be doing? You'll support the Science & Health business unit by swiftly resolving any design-related issues in line with our commercial objectives to keep the wider construction programme on track. In particular, your role will involve:
- Review tender documents, assist in the production of pre qualification and tender submissions including tender interviews.
- Take full responsibility for the design coordination of large projects; all design consultant disciplines and sub consultants.
- Audit the design at all RIBA stages and identify inconsistencies, discrepancies and missing information and record, report and track the close out of these items in an Information Required Schedule format.
- Chair design workshops with the sub-contractors and client management team, develop the design, workshop drawings and manage the coordination between trades.
- Manage the production and approval of samples, mock ups and quality benchmarks.
- Attend Morning Review meetings and action design information.
- Provide input into Contractors Proposals document for D&B projects.
What do you need to bring? Has been involved in at least one large (ÂŁ100m+) technically complex project (e.g., science, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, clean room). Prior construction management experience, Structural, Architectural or M&E qualifications. Must be able to display an understanding of building construction and sequence and challenge the design to ensure statutory compliance, good practice and to enhance and ensure coordination and build-ability is addressed. Should be able to manage a team of consultants to meet the design output requirements for both traditional contracts and Design & Build. Understanding of BIM level 2. In-depth knowledge of the design and construction process, both refurbishment and fit out.
