Senior Consultant – Technology Benchmarking & Value Optimisation at ISG (Information Services Group).

This role operates at the intersection of data, technology, and business transformation, leading client engagements, delivering data-driven insights, and helping organisations shape future-ready technology strategies. You will contribute to automation initiatives and help clients navigate domains like AI, quantum computing, cloud, and next-gen networks. Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead client engagements and workstreams focused on technology cost and value benchmarking across IT, applications, and infrastructure.
- Perform detailed data analysis and develop insights that link cost optimisation with innovation and business enablement.
- Use ISG’s proprietary benchmarking tools (e.g., ProBenchmark) and Excel-based models to analyze market services, operational costs, and pricing structures.
- Translate complex data into compelling stories and recommendations that resonate with business and technology leaders.
- Manage client relationships independently, acting as a trusted advisor and delivering with confidence, clarity, and integrity.
- Contribute to the automation and modernisation of ISG’s benchmarking methodologies, including AI-enabled analysis and tooling initiatives.
- Collaborate with global colleagues to share best practices, develop intellectual property, and expand ISG’s benchmarking capabilities.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, embodying ISG’s values of Trust, Passion, Integrity, and Mentorship.
- Support practice development activities, including thought leadership, proposal development, and internal knowledge sharing.
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
Commercial and Analytical Expertise
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial, financial, or professional roles – ideally involving technology, sourcing, or business performance analysis. Prior experience in consulting or benchmarking is valuable but not essential.
- Strong grounding in IT financial disciplines, cost management, or commercial analysis (e.g., TBM, procurement, accounting, or vendor management). Familiarity with cost and price benchmarking is advantageous but can be developed on the job.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with ISG proprietary tools (e.g., ProBenchmark) is a plus.
- Exposure to modern analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Python) is advantageous.
Consulting and Delivery Skills
- Excellent analytical and storytelling ability to interpret complex data and craft clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong project delivery discipline with the ability to manage timelines, quality, and outcomes independently or in small teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset – eager to innovate, improve, and contribute to a high-performance team.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation – with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to colleagues and clients.
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders is valuable but not essential.
- Collaborative and empathetic working style, with a commitment to mentorship, trust, and integrity.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or business discipline required.
- Advanced degree (MBA/MS) desirable.
