Support Engineer– Leading Edge 5G SA Networks - Core Mobile Network Technologies
Flexible UK - Remote

The company is a start-up technology provider of 5G Mobile Core network solutions. Utilising leading edge technologies, their solutions have been deployed across North America and Europe, including highly sensitive and critical communication environments. With recent funding and success, we are hiring for several roles, including this brand-new position supporting their most important System Integrator partnerships.
The Role of the Support Engineer:
- Responsible for System Integrator customer base, supporting the customer through initial deployment, upgrades and operations, predominantly resolving tier-3 level requests.
- Lead and instruct customers in basic procedures and basic support resolution.
- Support customers in the removal, installation and upgrade of core software solutions.
- Implement and suggest procedural improvements.
- Plan, design, develop, manage, document, test, deploy, and support new and existing customer facing procedures.
- Plan, build and execute test scenarios to replicate customer network environments and problems.
The ideal candidate will have experience/exposure to the following:
- 2+ years of experience in a commercial customer support environment, successfully resolving trouble ticket enquiries to tier-3 level.
- Essential - 2+ years of experience of working with 4G or 5G Mobile Core network technologies; knowledge of 3GPP network layer protocols, analysing call flows, use of network analysis tools like Wireshark etc.
- Experience of configuring 4G or 5G Mobile Packet Core or Switch Core network technologies and protocols (EPC, 5GC, NGAP, gNB, S1AP, SGW, SS7, IMS, Diameter, GTP).
- Linux systems – experience of managing and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network troubleshooting etc.
- Experience of testing software desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of software development lifecycles beneficial.
