Senior Ecologist
Location: Winchester
Salary: 48,000 - 50,000 DOE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join a growing, multidisciplinary environmental consultancy specialising in ecology, arboriculture and landscape design. With an established team and ambitious expansion plans, this is an excellent opportunity to help develop a new ecology service in Winchester.
As Senior Ecologist, you will play a key role in building client relationships and delivering high-quality ecological advice across a varied project portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare technical reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, mitigation strategies and protected species licence applications.
- Manage projects, budgets, survey programmes and junior ecologists.
- Liaise with clients, planning authorities and statutory consultees.
- Support business development, bids and client relationship management.
- Collaborate with landscape architects and arboricultural specialists.

Requirements:
- Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Full CIEEM membership or working towards it.
- Significant UK ecological consultancy experience.
- Knowledge of wildlife legislation, planning policy and BNG.
- Relevant protected species survey licences.
- Strong technical report-writing and project management skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for surveys.
- Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Currently living within commuting distance of the Winchester office.
