The Property & Sustainability Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across Diaverum's property, estates, facilities management, and sustainability functions. The role ensures that all dialysis clinics are safe, compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with healthcare building regulations, Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), Health Building Notes (HBNs), Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, and statutory estates obligations. The postholder will provide assurance that estates governance, risk management, and sustainability practices support the delivery of safe, effective, and resilient patient care, while also delivering value for money and supporting Diaverum's long-term ESG and Net Zero ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Healthcare Estates & Compliance: Ensure all clinics meet HTMs, HBNs, CQC requirements, and statutory regulations. Lead governance, risk management, inspections, and compliance assurance.
- Responsible Person Duties: Act as Responsible Person for Fire Safety and Domestic Water Safety. Oversee safety controls, monitoring, remedial works, and governance processes.
- Facilities Management: Lead hard and soft FM delivery, maintenance programmes, SLAs, and KPIs. Ensure facilities support safe, high‑quality patient care without disruption.
- Projects & Developments: Contribute to clinic design, refurbishments, and development projects. Support tendering, contractor evaluation, building demonstrations, and handovers.
- Property Portfolio Management: Manage leases, landlord relationships, negotiations, and property risks.
- ESG & Sustainability: Drive Diaverum's Net Zero and ESG commitments. Implement energy, emissions, and waste‑reduction initiatives.
- Financial & Leadership Responsibilities: Contribute to OPEX/CAPEX planning and ensure value for money. Provide visible leadership across estates, FM, and sustainability functions.
About You
- A degree in Estates, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience within healthcare estates or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of HTMs, HBNs, CQC expectations, fire safety, and water safety.
- Experience with multi‑site estates, contractor management, and compliance systems.
- Knowledge of sustainability and ESG principles.
- Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to work autonomously across the UK.
Additional Information
- Participation in an on‑call rota is required.
- National travel, including occasional overnight stays, is expected.
- Compliance with internal policies and relevant legislation is essential.
