Health, Safety & Environment Manager
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental standards across a production and office environment.
You will work closely with senior management and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture, manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support risk assessments covering both health & safety and environmental considerations across production and office areas.
- Identify workplace hazards and work with relevant teams to put effective control measures in place, covering areas such as fire safety, noise and equipment use.
- Monitor and report on Health, Safety & Environmental performance to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Develop and review safe working procedures in collaboration with senior management and production teams.
- Support the development and implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and strategies.
- Identify training requirements across the site and deliver appropriate internal training where required.
- Take the lead on accident and incident investigations, working alongside first aiders and relevant departments to ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
- Maintain accurate records of accidents and incidents and liaise with senior management and the HSE where appropriate.
- Work alongside Production and Maintenance teams to ensure new and repaired machinery and equipment can be introduced safely and in line with legislation.
- Carry out regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Oversee the safe handling and disposal of hazardous substances.
- Manage the Value Based Safety process alongside existing risk assessment procedures.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, best practice and professional development requirements.
- Monitor the organisation's use of environmental resources, including water and gas, and produce relevant KPI information.
- Develop and support initiatives around recycling, pollution reduction and prevention.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable environmental legislation.
- Implement relevant group standards, policies, reporting requirements and guidance across the site.
About You
- NEBOSH qualified, with an HND or degree in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience within a production environment.
- A confident facilitator and coach with the ability to engage and motivate others.
- Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organisation and decision‑making skills.
- A flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to work across departments.
