What you'll be doing

  • Lead on delivery of project ecological requirements.
  • Develop and implement ecological management plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulators, clients and design teams, and internal teams.
  • Ensure site compliance with ecological legislation and coach construction teams in applying controls and mitigations in pragmatic, cost-effective ways.
  • Ensure the company environmental management system is maintained in line with changing standards and legislation and liaise with senior team lead on changes required.
  • Lead investigations and report on ecological incidents.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

  • Excellent knowledge of ecological management and mitigation.
  • Excellent understanding of ecological legislation for development.
  • Good level of commercial awareness.
  • Full driver's licence and flexibility to travel.
  • Good understanding of environmental management for construction sites.
  • Good understanding of the utilities/construction/engineering operating environment.
  • Literate in MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Educated to degree or Masters level in Ecology or related subject.
  • At least one protected species survey licence and/or preferably experienced in badger mitigation.
  • Experience of working on large scale infrastructure construction projects.
  • Full CIEEM Membership.
