The business delivers a wide range of ecological services to public and private sector clients and offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced ecologists on complex, high-profile projects.

Your new role

As a Consultant Ecologist, you'll play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, project work and technical reporting across a variety of infrastructure projects. • Liaising with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Providing ecological advice and guidance throughout project life cycles
  • Managing Junior and Graduate Ecologists

This role will involve a combination of site work and office-based technical delivery, with approximately three days focused on reporting, project management and desk-based tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within an ecological consultancy
  • Strong all-round ecological survey and reporting skills
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Knowledge of UK protected species and habitats
  • Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to review, challenge and improve technical outputs

Candidates with protected species licences and botanical survey experience will be viewed favourably, although these are not essential.

What you’ll get in return

  • Competitive contract day rate
  • Initial 3-month contract with strong extension potential
  • Opportunity to work on a major Midlands infrastructure programme
  • Expenses covered for business travel between project sites
