Your new role: As a Principal Arboricultural Consultant, you will join a wellâestablished and highly regarded arboricultural team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK. You'll play a key role in delivering highâquality arboricultural advice to a wide range of clients, contributing to complex, innovative and nationally significant schemes. The team is known for its collaborative and supportive ethos, with a shared passion for trees and sustainable land use.
Your role will involve:
- Leading BS5837:2012 surveys and reports
- Undertaking tree hazard and risk assessments (such as PTI and QTRA)
- Providing technical oversight and quality assurance across projects
- Supporting the growth of the arboricultural service line by helping to develop client relationships, contributing to bids and proposals, and mentoring less experienced consultants
- Working closely with multiâdisciplinary colleagues to deliver integrated solutions that balance development needs with environmental protection
What youâll need to succeed:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in arboriculture (or equivalent practical experience), ideally level 4 and above
- Significant experience working in an arboricultural consultancy environment at a senior or principal level
- Proven experience undertaking BS5837:2012 surveys, reports and VTA within a consultancy or commercial setting
- Experience of tree risk assessment, with training in a recognised methodology (e.g. PTI, QTRA, VALID or TRAQ)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging clients and project teams
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site as required
- Working knowledge of GIS and/or CAD software for producing arboricultural plans
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior consultants
