We are seeking a HSE Advisor to join a busy HSE Team. The successful candidate will be part of our Local Public Services HSE Team, focusing primarily on the Glasgow University Projects, monitoring the delivery of effective HSE, business systems, risk management and resilience. Provide a highly visible presence on site to support project staff.

Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for providing Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environmental (HSE) support within a site-based project.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that all site/field workers connected with the project are compliant with all HSE requirements.
  • You will be part of the documented HSE Escalation process and adhere to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) as required for this project.
  • Other HSE related tasks as directed by the HSE Lead or Project leadership.
  • You will work closely with the project Leadership Team, the Client and Contractors to provide a safe working environment.
  • You will support the implementation and sustainment of all the relevant documentation required to deliver this project safely.
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining CDM documentation, in line with the CDM duty-holder roles and in conjunction with other duty-holder roles as directed by the program lead.
  • You will support the appropriate reporting and investigation of all accidents and near misses, and communicate findings and lessons learnt.

What we're looking for:

  • Risk (assessment) Management experience
  • CDM knowledge and application
  • Knowledge and implementation of HSE Legislation
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (with construction experience) or NEBOSH Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is essential
  • Working knowledge and experience of CDM 2015
  • Experience of accident/incident investigation
  • Experience of working in Construction or Electrical/Mechanical/Telecoms Installation would be a major attribute
  • CSCS Card holder essential
  • UKATA Asbestos training
  • Experience of working at height
  • Experience of providing HSE coverage to more than one site at a time
  • Experience in preparation of Construction Phase Plans
  • Experience of auditing/inspecting subcontractors
  • Experience in carrying out Site HSE inductions essential
  • Experience in HSE mentoring employees, subcontractors and others involved in the project
