About the Role

We are seeking a Graduate Geo–Environmental Consultant to join our team in Bromsgrove, with opportunities for rapid professional development and promotion for the right candidate. We're looking for a team player with drive, ambition and commitment to producing quality work who is eager to develop their skills and knowledge. You’ll work as part of an experienced team delivering geo–environmental and geotechnical consultancy services to a diverse range of clients. Our workload is varied and engaging, with a good balance of site and office working (50/50 split), managing projects including ground investigations, contaminated land assessments, geotechnical design, remediation design, and verification works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become familiar with relevant standards, guidance and legislative background to the geo–environmental and geotechnical industry
  • Prepare health and safety documentation and implement safe working measures
  • Supervise ground investigations involving various techniques, manage subcontractors, log and sample soil and rock to BS5930, monitor gas and groundwater
  • Schedule chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing and produce exploratory hole logs to relevant standards
  • Produce drawings (including in CAD) and write desk–based Phase I geo–environmental assessment reports
  • Write interpretive reports including Phase II geo–environmental assessments, risk assessments, and geotechnical assessments
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and suppliers, and assist with project delivery
  • Help prepare proposals for new work and comply with internal policies and ISO standards

Essential Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (geology, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, physical geography etc.).
  • Full UK driving licence (manual transmission).
  • Good IT skills and comfortable with MS Office.
  • Strong work ethic, able to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
  • Good problem solving skills with ability to adapt and find practical solutions.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of GBP26,500 – GBP29,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) and provide a comprehensive range of benefits including:

  • Optional 2FF working pattern, working slightly extended hours across the fortnight and you take every second Friday off. This gives you around 26 extra days away from work each year on top of standard annual leave allowance. You still receive your full salary, while gaining regular time back for family, hobbies, travel or simply switching off.
  • 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service and promotions)
  • Twice yearly salary reviews as you become more experienced
