A leading supplier in Basildon is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to drive a proactive safety culture across site operations. This role offers excellent job security, strong leadership backing, and a great work-life balance with an early finish every Friday.

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 DOE

Working Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:00pm Fri 7:30am-12:30pm (Early Finish)

Key Responsibilities

Promote site HSE compliance with current UK legislation and maintain management systems.

Carry out routine workplace inspections, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments.

Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations with root-cause reporting and corrective actions.

Coordinate fire safety, emergency response plans, and site evacuation drills.

Chair internal H&S committee meetings and deliver employee onboarding inductions.

Track and report HSE KPIs and metrics to management and regulatory bodies.
Skills & Experience

Background as an EHS Officer, HSE Advisor, or Health & Safety Officer.

Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or aerospace environments.

Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, risk assessments, and auditing.

NEBOSH General Certificate (held or in progress) is desirable.

Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 50001 standards is beneficial.
