ISDI is a leading designer and manufacturer of CMOS image sensors and X-ray detectors for medical, industrial, scientific and life sciences applications. The company is headquartered in London.

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality Engineer based in Kentish Town, London. The Quality Engineer will oversee and implement quality control, assurance, and management processes to ensure product quality. The role involves identifying areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing and design processes.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing processes, implement process controls and inspection criteria, manage non-conformances.
  • Investigate product or process defects using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Whys and 8D methodologies.
  • Oversee functional testing of products and ensure test data traceability.
  • Maintain quality documentation including control plans, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analysing yield and defect trends, working with engineering and production teams to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards by conducting internal audits, performing manufacturing process inspections and follow up on CAPA implementation.
  • Manage supplier quality-related issues, including supplier returns, investigations coordination and supplier audits.

Requirements

  • A recognised degree-level qualification in Medical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as 8D, Control Plans, FMEA, CAPA, NCR management, as well as data analysis methodologies.
  • Proven experience working in a production or cleanroom environment as a Quality Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
