About the Role
The Project Manager will oversee end‑to‑end execution of R&D projects involving electronics, software, mechanical and process engineering, from early‑stage concept to production release. This role requires a blend of technical understanding and operational discipline to coordinate engineering, supply chain, quality, and production teams. The role is based at ISDI’s offices in Kentish Town, with possibility for occasional hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations for new product introduction (NPI) and transfer to manufacturing.
- Drive cross‑functional alignment across engineering, procurement, production, and quality teams, for multiple projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead regular project reviews and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
- Technical & Manufacturing Coordination
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and smooth transition from prototype to mass production.
- Support BOM creation, revision control, and engineering change management (ECO/ECR).
- Coordinate validation builds, testing phases, and production ramp‑up activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Performance Management
- Ensure that projects are adequately resourced: people, materials and equipment.
- Ensure that teams are motivated, with clear plans and objectives, and balancing of workload.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and post‑project evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or related technical field.
- Proven track record of delivering projects in the electronics, aerospace, medical equipment, automotive or similar sectors.
- Strong understanding of PCB assembly, mechanical integration, testing processes, and manufacturing workflows.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification, or evidence of Project Management training.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Agile or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001.
- Experience with the semiconductor industry is an advantage.
