Baldwin Boxall is looking for an experienced PCB Design Engineer that wants to join our growing R&D Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company who support and lead in a caring, friendly and safe working environment where exceeding expectations is encouraged and rewarded. Baldwin Boxall is an independent, highly successful business based in Crowborough, East Sussex, who designs, manufactures, and markets voice alarm and emergency voice communication equipment. Systems are installed in varying sectors, including commercial, industrial, retail, leisure, transport, and public service facilities, distributing worldwide.
The Role: As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be working on maintaining and creating new PCB designs across Baldwin Boxallβs extensive Life Safety product portfolio. Working closely with our Manufacturing, R&D and Mechanical teams, you will contribute to creating high-quality PCB designs for manufacturing and assembly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and revise Schematic and PCB designs.
- PCB Assembly Bill of Material creation and management.
- Interpret design briefs, technical drawings, and specifications to produce accurate designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, customers and suppliers to develop and refine designs.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, company specifications, and project requirements.
- Manage and maintain an organised library of PCB and Schematic Footprints.
- Contribute to design reviews and offer practical solutions to design challenges.
The Person: The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated, confident, have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills and consistently produce high quality work. They should be able to work independently but also be part of a team and enjoy a challenge.
Must have:
- Proficiency in PCB Design software such as Altium Designer or equivalent (Altium preferred).
- Experienced in taking designs through concept, to prototype and then final assembly.
- Knowledge of electronic design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., PCB design for EMC, High Speed and High Voltages etc.).
- Ability to interpret and create PCB designs according to BS/ISO standards (e.g. EMC and LVD).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
The Package: Salary neg depending on experience. 37.5 Hours per week (Monday to Friday). Profit related annual bonus. Company pension. Life insurance. Work clothing. Company social events.
