Lead the design, programming, and commissioning of bespoke automated systems for the dairy/food sector. Combine electrical design, PLC/HMI development, and multi-discipline engineering (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) to deliver turnkey solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Electrical design: SLDs, panel layouts, IO schedules, compliance with BS 7671, UKCA/CE, ATEX.
  • Automation: PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, B&R), SCADA, industrial networks, instrumentation integration.
  • Project delivery: Full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, FAT/SAT, risk assessments, UKCA/CE marking.
  • Support: Troubleshooting, upgrades, retrofits, training site engineers.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in controls/automation within food, beverage, FMCG, or pharma.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • 18th Edition preferred.
  • Strong background in bespoke automated machinery.

Skills

  • PLC/HMI/SCADA programming.
  • Electrical panel design & functional safety.
  • CAD tools (EPLAN, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Pneumatics & hydraulics troubleshooting.
  • Compliance documentation (UKCA/CE, PUWER, SIL/PL).
