ISCA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Group Financial Controller for a rapidly expanding and ambitious manufacturing group. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-profile opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of Group reporting, drive financial excellence, and play a key role in the next phase of growth. This is far more than a traditional financial control role. You'll be a trusted business partner to the CEO, CFO and Commercial FD, helping to shape strategy, strengthen controls, integrate acquisitions, and build a scalable finance function capable of supporting an increasingly dynamic group structure. This role offers significant long-term career potential and is suited to an ambitious qualified accountant looking to step into a broader leadership position.

Group Financial Controller - The Role:

  • Lead all aspects of Group financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance and operational excellence across multiple businesses.
  • Manage the preparation and delivery of Group Interim and Annual Financial Reports.
  • Undertake the Group consolidation process for management accounts and Group statutory accounts.
  • Support operating companies through year-end close and audit readiness.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors to ensure efficient and effective audits.
  • Prepare subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Drive the implementation and optimisation of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with newly acquired businesses and the Group FD to accelerate integration and financial maturity.
  • Identify financial performance variances and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Develop robust, scalable financial controls, systems and processes across the Group.
  • Support the commercial FD with technically upskilling of finance teams across multiple entities.
  • Support the CFO on acquisition integration, tax planning, R&D tax credits, banking, cash management and company secretarial matters.

Group Financial Controller – The Rewards:

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Group Financial Controller - About You:

  • Technically excellent qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong accounting expertise with commercial acumen, leadership capability and a genuine passion for continuous improvement.
  • Recent audit experience gained in both UK SME and listed/quoted environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Group reporting, consolidations and statutory accounting.
  • Manufacturing sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Exposure of businesses with revenues up to £10m and workforces of up to 100 employees.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge.
  • Experience improving finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks.
  • Detail-oriented, commercially minded you’ll be able to translate financial data into business insight.
  • Hands-on and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Confident and clear communicator with the ability to build rapport at all levels from finance teams to senior stakeholders.
  • Inquisitive and proactive – continually seeking better ways of working.
