The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day finance function including managing and mentoring a team of two. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the board, providing financial leadership, commercial insights and strategic input to ensure the financial health, stability and growth of the business.
  • Developing 5-year projections for the business and delivering monthly MI reporting.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and identifying working capital requirements.
  • Supporting and business partnering budget holders/department managers, helping build financial understanding, challenging as needed, ensuring accurate cost allocations and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
  • Responsible for monthly group financial reporting and year-end accounts, ensuring accuracy and validity of all financial records.
  • Maintaining and improving finance processes and controls across the business.
  • Financial modelling for new opportunities and projects, ensuring financial viability, highlighting risks and accounting requirements.
  • Delivering financial analysis to improve financial understanding and profitability where possible.

The rewards for this role include a salary of £60,000 – £80,000pa plus benefits such as onsite parking, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and pension. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, and the location is in office, near Exeter.

This role will suit a proactive, commercially astute accountant seeking a varied hands-on role with a growing SME. We are keen to hear from individuals with proven financial leadership experience and experience of strategic decision making in SME product-driven businesses. You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with relevant operational finance experience.

You will enjoy using your commercial skills, able to see the bigger picture and plan ahead whilst also being hands-on to ensure the timely delivery of monthly reports. A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills, you’ll be able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business. You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to inspire, persuade and influence, with the ability to lead and positively manage and empower others to achieve. You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business. Strong IT skills with experience of Sage 200 are beneficial.
