Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a commercially astute accountant to join a manufacturing SME Group consisting of two businesses as the Group Finance Director in Somerset.
Duties
- Overseeing the day-to-day finance function: purchase and sales ledgers, credit control etc.
- Team management, including recruitment, reviews and development.
- Cash flow management, tracking costs monthly against budgets and flagging up trends.
- Providing monthly financial and management information reports for senior management both local and group.
- Monthly management accounts, KPI’s, including commentary and variance analysis.
- Preparation of VAT returns, monthly payroll and pension.
- Identifying, implementing and ensuring effective financial controls, processes and systems.
- Business partnering budget holders and management, working with production, buying, sales and operational teams.
- Responsible for budgeting and forecasting including budget analysis and review, working with management to ensure adherence to budget and company performance.
- Overseeing year end accounts processes and statutory accounts production.
- Liaising with auditors and managing the annual audit process.
The Rewards
- Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 pa negotiable, benefits including performance related bonus of up to 50% and share options.
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
- Location: Bridgwater and Weston-Super-Mare.
- Start Date: ASAP.
The Person
This role will suit a proactive, commercially astute qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) seeking a varied role with growing businesses, where you will take responsibility for the smooth running of the finance functions. You’ll have experience in SME and manufacturing environments, and a proven track record of identifying and implementing change/improvements to further business growth. Experience of managing staff across multiple sites is advantageous. You will enjoy using your commercial skills – able to see the bigger picture and plan ahead whilst also being hands on to ensure the timely delivery of monthly reports. A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills you’ll be able to prioritise and meet deadlines in an entrepreneurial business. You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to inspire, persuade and influence, with the ability to lead and positively manage and empower others to achieve. Strong IT skills with experience of Excel, knowledge of Sage 200 is desirable. You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
