We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring Director of Music to lead Badminton’s flourishing Music department. Main responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility for leading and managing the Music Department, and for the development of music throughout the school
  • Ensure Music is taught in an interesting and challenging manner, enabling each pupil to realise her potential
  • Enable a ‘music for all’ mentality and work closely with colleagues, including Pastoral Heads and SEND staff to facilitate this
  • Ensure a full, varied and stimulating extra-curricular timetable
  • Develop appropriate specifications, materials and schemes of work
  • Contribute to the teaching of the department as set out in the timetable

To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following:

  • Strong practical musician with high standard of piano expertise and the ability to offer several musical specialisms
  • Able to conduct and lead instrumental ensembles and choirs to a high standard
  • Excellent team leader with the ability to motivate others and delegate effectively
  • Excellent subject knowledge
