• Knowledge of software such as Houdini, USD, Arnold, Nuke, Maya and/or equivalent 3D software
• Knowledge of Python, Hscript or Mel is a plus

The Special Effects Supervisor works closely with the Director and creative team to understand the artistic vision of the project.
He is responsible for the planning and design of special effects, based on the concept, previz, storyboard, etc., and in agreement with the production team.

He/she supervises and coordinates the various stages of the special effects production process, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and that the creative stages run according to schedule and budget.

Collaboration with production team and other departments

VFX Supervisors work closely with other departments, such as Art Direction, Photography, Editing and Sound, to seamlessly integrate special effects into the final film.

Managing resources and deadlines

Special Effects Supervisors manage the team of VFX Artists and Compositing Artists dedicated to special effects.
They must manage this team effectively to ensure that deadlines are met and artistic objectives achieved.

The VFX Supervisor can also develop customized tools and scripts to optimize production workflows. These tools simplify repetitive processes, automate time-consuming tasks and guarantee maximum efficiency in achieving project objectives.
