This volunteer role supports Isabel Hospice by establishing and managing pin badge donation boxes within the Welwyn Garden City and Welwyn Village area. The volunteer will help raise vital funds by building relationships with local businesses, placing donation boxes, and maintaining them on an ongoing basis.

What you'll be doing:

  • Research and identify suitable venues in Welwyn Garden City and Welwyn Village, such as Supermarkets, GP Surgeries, Beauty Salons and any other locations where pin badges may appeal to the local community.
  • Contact venues by phone to introduce Isabel Hospice and explain the importance of community fundraising. Advise and ask if they would consider keeping an Isabel Hospice box of pin badges.
  • Prepare the donation box and select an appropriate number of pin badges.
  • Record all placements on a spreadsheet.
  • Arrange a convenient time with the venue for delivery.
  • Deliver the box and ensure it is placed in a visible, accessible location.
  • Inform the venue that you will return in approximately three months to collect donations and refill badges.
  • Conduct follow up calls and arrange times to collect donations/refill the box for the fundraising team.

We ask that our volunteers are:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Live within an easy commute to the area.
  • Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week.
