Overview

We are looking for Retail Volunteers to assist in our Sawbridgeworth shop on weekends. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in one of our shops, we’d love to hear from you!

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops raise funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice.

As a Retail Assistant, you will support and assist the team in maximising the shop's income by ensuring the shop floor is fully stocked and properly merchandised, and customers are served efficiently.

We ask you to commit to at least one regular half-day weekday session. Session times are:

AM: 9am - 1pm

PM: 1pm - 5pm

Sunday sessions are 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm.

We are looking for volunteers to assist us on Friday afternoons and all day Sunday.

What you’ll be doing

Under the leadership of your Shop Manager, you will be assisting with:

  • Providing the highest standard of service to customers
  • Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best
  • Operating tills and taking payments
  • Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed
  • Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy
  • Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles
  • Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop
  • Raising awareness of Gift Aid to our customers
  • Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Eligibility

Am I eligible to volunteer?

We ask that our volunteers are:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Live within an easy commute to the area
  • Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week
