We are looking for Retail Volunteers to assist us in our Sawbridgeworth shop on weekends. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in one of our shops, we’d love to hear from you! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops play a crucial role in raising funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice.
We ask you to commit to at least one regular half-day weekday session. Session times are:
- AM: 9am - 1pm
- PM: 1pm - 5pm
- Sunday session times: 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm
We are looking for volunteers to assist us on Friday afternoons and all day Sunday.
What you’ll be doing:
- Under the leadership of your Shop Manager, you will be assisting with:
- Providing the highest standard of service to customers
- Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best
- Operating tills and taking payments
- Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed
- Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy
- Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles
- Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop
- Raising awareness of Gift Aid to our customers
- Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Am I eligible to volunteer?
We ask that our volunteers are:
- At least 18 years old
- Live within an easy commute to the area
- Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week
