We are looking for Volunteer Retail Assistants to assist us on weekdays and weekends in our Haldens Shop. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in our shops, we’d love to hear from you! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops play a crucial role in raising funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice.

Volunteer Schedule

We ask you to commit to at least one regular half‑day weekly session. Session times are:

  • Monday/Wednesday: AM 9am – 1pm or PM 1pm – 5pm
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 1pm – 5pm
  • Friday: 9am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm
  • Saturday: all day
  • Sunday: 10am – 1pm or 1pm – 4pm

We are looking for volunteers to assist us on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Responsibilities

  • Providing the highest standard of service to customers
  • Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best
  • Operating tills and taking payments
  • Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed
  • Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy
  • Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles
  • Promoting the public’s understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop
  • Raising awareness of Gift Aid to our customers
  • Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Eligibility

  • At least 18 years old
  • Live within an easy commute to the area
  • Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week
