Clas-SiC Wafer Fab Limited is a leading Silicon Carbide Power Semiconductor manufacturer based in Lochgelly, Fife. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Facilities Technician to join their Facilities Management Team and play a key role in supporting their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable maintenance professional with strong facilities or building-services experience. The successful candidate will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site, helping to ensure that the building services, infrastructure and specialist manufacturing facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, completing preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and maintenance requests, identifying and resolving safety hazards, and keeping accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining, monitoring and repairing building services and site infrastructure
- Supporting electrical systems, including LV switching, lighting, fire alarms and security systems
- Maintaining mechanical plant, including HVAC systems, compressors, chillers and pumps
- Supporting gas, chemical and ultra-pure water distribution systems, as well as waste-management services
- Monitoring building management systems, including Trend, and carrying out condition-monitoring activities
- Supporting facilities, operations, infrastructure and employee welfare services
- Providing project engineering support
- Supervising and managing contractors working on site
- Identifying and resolving potential safety hazards
- Producing and assessing risk assessments and method statements
- Maintaining detailed records covering maintenance activities, spare parts and stock control
What They’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong facilities maintenance or building-services experience within an industrial or commercial environment
- Practical mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
- Breakdown response and fault-finding experience
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider facilities team
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and planning skills
Desirable
- Experience of building management systems
- Knowledge of ultra-pure water, gas, chemical or waste-management systems
- Experience producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements
- Experience supervising contractors or supporting engineering projects
Qualifications
Candidates will ideally be time-served and hold a Level 2 or Level 3 engineering qualification, an NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent mechanical, electrical or building-services qualification.
