We are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Fife that has secured approval for a significant multi-million-pound investment and factory extension. This expansion will support the introduction of a new product line, with construction work due to begin in the coming months. As a result of this investment, and the planned retirement of an existing team member, the business is now looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering and assembly background.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the optimisation of production flow across assembly and manufacturing cells
  • Line balancing, cycle time analysis, and capacity planning to ensure accurate and achievable build times
  • Working closely with production teams to identify bottlenecks and implement practical, data-driven improvements
  • Creating and maintaining routings within an MRP system, ensuring operations, timings, and resources are correctly defined
  • Supporting effective planning and scheduling through accurate manufacturing data and process definition

About You

You’ll be an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys being close to manufacturing and understands how products are built in reality, not just on paper. You’ll be comfortable spending time on the shop floor, observing processes, and turning what you see into tangible improvements. A background in mechanical engineering and assembly-based manufacturing is essential, along with a practical, problem-solving mindset and the confidence to work collaboratively with production teams.
