Our client is experiencing sustained growth following several recent business wins and is now looking to recruit a Technical Operator to support their engineering and manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone practical, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a workshop or production environment. The position supports quality, stores, and dispatch activities and would suit someone who enjoys seeing work move from component through to finished product.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting quality activities by checking components produced in-house and by external suppliers
  • Working from engineering drawings and specifications to ensure parts meet required standards
  • Using basic inspection and measuring equipment to identify potential issues and escalate where required
  • Maintaining clear and accurate records, including inspection results and quality documentation
  • Assisting with booking in, locating, and managing stock using ERP/MRP systems
  • Preparing components for dispatch and completing associated shipping paperwork
  • Maintaining a safe, tidy, and well-organised working environment

You’ll be comfortable reading engineering drawings and following instructions accurately, with a practical mindset and a willingness to get involved wherever required. You don’t need to come from a traditional quality background as experience in engineering, manufacturing, stores, or workshop environments would all be relevant. Being organised and detail-conscious is more important than ticking every technical box, and full training will be provided for the right person.

This is a Monday to Friday role with a half-day finish, offering a competitive salary and benefits package within a stable and growing engineering business. You’ll join a supportive team where you can develop your skills, gain exposure to different parts of the operation, and build a long-term role as the business continues to grow.
