Our client is a growing engineering and manufacturing business that has recently secured a number of significant new contracts. As a result, they are looking to appoint a Technical Operator to join their team in a varied and hands-on role supporting quality, stores and shipping activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in accuracy and organisation, and is looking to develop their skills within a growing engineering business.

The Role

This is a varied position where no two days are the same. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the business across quality, stores and logistics activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out checks and inspections to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Recording information and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Identifying and reporting any issues with components or products.
  • Booking goods into stock and maintaining inventory records.
  • Locating, handling and issuing components as required.
  • Preparing products and components for shipment.
  • Completing dispatch and shipping paperwork.
  • Supporting housekeeping, organisation and continuous improvement activities throughout the workshop.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, production or warehouse environment.
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for recording information and using company systems.

Previous experience in quality inspection, stores, warehousing, machining, assembly or production would be advantageous but is not essential. Full training can be provided for the right individual.
