Overview
We are pleased to be working with one London’s premier wood product manufacturers. This role will appeal to individuals looking to join a stable, successful organization with solid growth plans.
Pay rate: $20.50 per hour. Reliable transportation is a must as this location is not accessible by bus route.
Responsibilities
- Provide training to more junior level, less experienced workers.
- Willing to work occasional weekends and extended hours during the work week as needed and be flexible to schedule changes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Finish door work, including placement of glass into the doors and cutting trim. Note: tempered glass cannot be cut; firelight can be cut.
- Operate the Heesemann sanding machine. Work with cranes. Run whole doors through the sander; set up the Heesemann machine with precision. (Fire door ~300 lbs). Use a vacuum lifter on the crane. Load panels manually (50 lbs range). Apply stains (Pat).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Previous experience working with wood.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools (tape measure, hammer, table saw, trimmer, planer, etc.).
- Capable of performing repetitive, physical work.
- Must be able to lift 50 to 200 lbs. using a dual lift.
- Flexible to work in any area of the facility.
Requirements
- 1 year experience
- Passing background check
- Grade 12 or equivalent
Essential Physical Requirements
- Must be able to frequently lift to 150-200 lbs. with a dual lift; new lift assist equipment is used there.
- Most work is performed above and below shoulder level with extended reach.
