This role is for someone who has worked on multiple websites at a time. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic with a positive attitude; dedication and willingness to work hard, sometimes under high production pressure. You must have a broad digital understanding and the ability to build bespoke websites for clients at all levels. You will be able to hit the ground running and be passionate about digital innovations.
What You’ll Do:
The role will see you being responsible for developing multiple complex websites to deadlines for our clients, pro-actively managing your time to complete projects on time. You will work closely with all members of the web team in the planning, designing, and building of our clients' websites and brands.
PLEASE NOTE: This role requires you to work from our office based in Glasgow, City Centre. Please only apply if you are happy to work from this location.
Your Day to Day:
- Create and build website layouts to client specifications by writing code, designing pages and widgets, and incorporating graphics and video elements.
- Work with clients and colleagues to determine website needs and regularly update the Web Project Manager.
- Identify the best plug-ins and applications to provide websites with new features and functionality and install them accordingly.
- Understand the latest and legacy browsing capabilities, including mobile.
- Maintain websites by checking for errors and broken links.
- Develop knowledge of website accessibility standards and legal requirements.
- Work with the Web team to deliver the website on time and within budget.
- Log and track code updates using online repositories.
- Comment all code effectively for easy management.
- Manage your time effectively to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure that all tasks are correctly time tracked, logged, and managed.
- Communicate effectively with the project manager on the progress of the client’s projects and campaigns and, at times, directly with the clients.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in front-end designing and back-end development.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using best practices and de-facto standard plugins.
- Experience using GIT and Divi.
- Experience creating plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards.
- Create clean, logical, well-documented, and reusable code.
- Theme/Template Integration.
