The team is led by partner, Guy Sackett and deals with a wide range of Real Estate work primarily focused on residential led development with a specialism in strategic land development projects. We also deal with commercial development projects, regeneration and investment/asset management work for national companies, highly regarded regional property companies, as well as a number of respected owner/occupier clients. The team also advises on niche natural capital projects in biodiversity net gain, water neutrality and nutrient neutrality providing offsite solutions to unlock thousands of residential developments. The team also deals with both contentious and non-contentious agricultural matters.
What we’ve been doing recently:
- Advising a national land promoter on numerous strategic land promotion agreements across the country;
- Dealing with the promotion of a 250 plus acre Sussex site for delivery of up to 1,500 residential units, together with education, leisure and care facilities;
- Acting for habitat bank operators and mitigation providers on conservation covenants and natural capital projects relating to biodiversity net gain, water neutrality and nutrient neutrality;
- Advising a number of household owner/occupier names on a wide range of asset management matters including portfolio expansions, estate restructurings and re-financings;
- Acting for a number of Further Education Colleges in relation to a range of issues affecting their campuses including leases, charges, sales and redevelopment;
- Advising on the acquisition and development of a prominent mixed use gateway site in Leicester, comprising offices, residential, hotel, student accommodation and retail accommodation valued at approximately £50m.

Given the nature of the role, you will be highly organised and able to work pragmatically. You’ll work to participate in relevant practice development initiatives, seek to get involved with business development opportunities and keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice. To drive best practice further, you will be an exceptional team player with the ability to work collaboratively to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and to develop other team members.
What we’ll need from you:
- A clear enthusiasm for this area of law and a commitment to securing the best outcomes for your clients whilst working under pressure;
- The confidence to hit the ground running;
- Experience in residential or commercial development matters or general commercial property deals;
