We are a national law firm specialising in public law and human rights. This full‑time role is 35 hours per week, based in our Southampton office for a minimum of two days and includes client visits and court attendance.
Responsibilities
- Work 35 hours per week, with at least 2 days in the Southampton office.
- Support clients in public law and human rights cases across government departments, local councils, hospitals, care homes, schools and education authorities.
- Attend client meetings, court hearings and visits to hospitals or client placements.
- Document work, manage deadlines, conduct research, negotiate settlements and represent clients in court and other forums.
- Operate independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Experience as a paralegal or in public law, especially with the client sectors listed (not essential).
- Excellent client care skills and a sensitive, sympathetic understanding of client needs.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, thorough documentation and effective deadline management.
- IT literacy with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of legal aid funding desirable but not essential.
