Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of those individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. As one of the UK's leading firms of solicitors, we have a dedicated and experienced team who specialise in all matters relating to the Court of Protection. You'll join our Partner Georgina Garner, who has a strong reputation in the market. Georgina acts as a professional deputy for property and financial affairs with various clients, from young children to those in later life, has experience with managing multi-million-pound settlements from personal injury claims, has been a member of Association of Lifetime Lawyers and is a committee member of CoPPA the Professional Deputies Forum.

The successful candidate will provide oversight, supervision, and support to the Paralegals with their caseloads and will play an integral part in helping to grow and strengthen the teams' market presence. You'll be joining the Sheffield Court of Protection team at an exciting time of team growth, both locally and nationally. This role can be performed out of our Sheffield or Manchester office on a hybrid basis (2 days office attendance per week) and will entail travel for client meetings in Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrable experience as a Solicitor in Court of Protection, specifically in Property & affairs (mandatory).
  • Between 3-8+ years of PQE.
  • Hands‑on experience in managing caseloads.
  • Empathy, resilience, and passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
