Our Asbestos and Occupational Disease team specialises in disease claims, with particular expertise in asbestos-related cases and representing mesothelioma patients and their families. The team handles a high proportion of litigated cases, many of which are expedited in the High Court. Led by David Johnston Keay, Partner and APIL Accredited Occupational Disease Specialist, he has over 20 years’ experience specialising in respiratory conditions such as asthma, silicosis and hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

You will be joining our Sheffield-based team and therefore must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our city centre office.

As a Paralegal, you’ll support Solicitors with their caseloads from the very beginning, giving you the chance to gain real, hands-on experience in a law firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take instructions from clients and assist with providing legal advice, including gathering evidence and supporting litigation where appropriate.
  • Achieve time recording and fee income targets to ensure profitable working.
  • Attend and contribute to team/practice area meetings, complying with directions and decisions to achieve team objectives.
  • Keep up to date with changes in relevant law and practice, attending training events to maintain legal knowledge and best practice.
