We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Serious Injury (SI) team in London, working on a varied and rewarding caseload. Personal injury can have a dramatic and life-changing impact on individuals and their families. At Irwin Mitchell, our teams don’t just handle compensation claims; we work closely with clients to ensure their rehabilitation needs are met. This bespoke approach makes a real difference for those whose lives have been turned upside down by injury.
You will be part of Partner Sofie Toft’s team, supporting clients who have sustained life-changing injuries. The team specialises in complex serious injury claims, including cases involving traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, serious orthopaedic injuries and amputation. The team also deals with a full spectrum of claims, including road traffic accidents, workplace accidents, and occupiers’ liability incidents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to qualified Case Handlers across a range of serious injury cases.
- Manage client queries quickly, efficiently, and with empathy.
- Progress cases independently under supervision and as part of a team.
- Liaise with clients and medical professionals in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Arrange meetings, seek medical reports, and chase information with sensitivity and professionalism.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Previous Paralegal experience (Serious Injury experience desirable).
- Strong ability to work on your own initiative.
- Empathy and compassion to guide clients through challenging personal circumstances.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
