The role is a Paralegal in the Medical Negligence Team at Irwin Mitchell.

Your Role and What You’ll Be Doing:

  • As a Paralegal in the Medical Negligence Team, you will support multi‑track value claims ranging up to multi‑million pounds.
  • A law degree is not required; we value teamwork and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Speaking to new/potential clients and taking details of their claim.
  • Taking instructions from clients and assisting with the provision of legal advice, including obtaining evidence and, where appropriate, assisting with litigation to achieve appropriate solutions for the clients.
  • Achieving time‑recording and fee‑income targets to ensure profitable working.
  • Supporting case handlers generally in the running of the cases.
  • Attending and contributing to team/practice area meetings and complying with directions/decisions made to ensure team objectives are achieved.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in relevant law and practice and attending appropriate training events to maintain up‑to‑date legal knowledge and best practice.
