Overview
In this role, you join Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle Medical Negligence team to manage high‑value claims for patients against NHS and private providers. You will handle cases from start to finish, applying analytical and commercial thinking to secure practical solutions and interim payments to support rehabilitation and care. You’ll work with a seasoned, supportive team to advance complex, sensitive claims and achieve meaningful outcomes for clients. Responsibilities
- Manage own caseload of medical negligence cases from inception to resolution
- Assist senior lawyers on high‑value, complex cases
- Identify key legal and factual issues and propose practical solutions for clients
- Pursue interim payments to support rehabilitation, care, and accommodation
- Collaborate with team to deliver the best outcomes for clients
Key requirements
- 1yr PQE+ experience in Medical Negligence
- Ability to take instructions from clients and give sound legal advice
- Demonstrable technical experience in medical negligence
- Experience assisting seniors on high value complex cases
- Ability to manage own caseload with high attention to detail and seamless service
- Ability to work independently and within a team to deliver outcomes
