At Irwin Mitchell LLP, our Manchester Employment team—led by partner Helen Kidd—is expanding, and we’re looking for a talented Employment Senior Associate to join. You will work with a diverse client base, including SMEs and PLCs across sectors such as retail, manufacturing, engineering, financial services, and facilities management.

Responsibilities

  • A broad variety of contentious and non-contentious work, including employment tribunal litigation, day-to-day HR and employment law advice, and advising on complex restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
  • Corporate support, advising on executive severances/settlement agreements, and supervising junior team members.
  • Participation in business development and marketing initiatives (including client training and seminar delivery).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5/6 years post‑qualification experience with strong technical skills and proven employment law experience.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Line management experience and a desire to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Proven commercial awareness, strong client service skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional networks.
